Mrs Gloop
Mrs. Gloop was a bulky woman of 45. She had never washed herself in her lifetime. She stank like a fish factory - in summer especially. You could then her from a distance from the buzzing of the flies. One day the woman fainted, her body was steaming and the local doctor was called. The doctor refused to examine Mrs. Gloop unless she was given a bath first for the doctor had a very sensitive nose...So a tub was filled with hot sudsy water and Mrs. Gloop was taken to it.What night that was! The dirt, layer after layer started to dissolve in the water, a few volunteer firemen in gas masks and asbestos gloves kept on scrubbing and scrubbing the scum. After two hours of work there was nothing left of Mrs. Gloop but a tub full of greenish muck and globs of hair. Something had to be done. The tub was emptied in an airtight container which was buried in the cemetery. The stench was still there and only flies attended the funeral! Here's a third extract of some new original work by Tomi Ungerer which is a collection of nonsense stories...
