Welcome to the all new tomiungerer.com

A couple of years ago, it became clear to us that our website was creaking with age as it had been developed before the era of mobile devices.

In order to bring the website up to date, we set about thinking of ways to renew and refresh this vital portal to all things Tomi. What you see here today is the result of all our endeavours and we are very excited to share it with you all.

Together with our wonderful designer, Andre Rohner, we (Neal Hoskins and Aria Ungerer) worked on creating a site that we felt would hold the timeless and classic look of a great artist along with something that we named a “Tomi twist” - a quirk or humour that might delight our readers and viewers.

"As Tomi sadly passed away in 2019, the website has an added purpose of representing the artist's legacy and no longer serves as the portal for his living, changing voice.  We hope that you will feel his lively presence here nevertheless and that the website will reflect the many ways in which Tomi was so often ahead of his time. Through his art, he was able to express so many universal themes with such incredible skill and precision."  Aria Ungerer

You will find the site to be responsive to the myriad new device sizes and shapes that people are viewing content from.  In the words of our Andrea who put together all the design motifs for this whole new tomiungerer.com launch:

“The airy white design leaves room for Tomi’s art to unwrap/enfold/breathe and be the star. The pages are structured through the work and photos of Tomi, and the classical font (one of his favourites) set in a bold modern way. Vibrant elements include Tomi’s work, as well as the backgrounds that make it a lively experience. The classical minimalistic design will stay fresh over time. The somewhat “work in progress/white sheet of paper feel” leaves room for a living, adapting, evolving, and surprising experience. Expect the unexpected ;-)” Andrea Rohner

P.S Do let us know what you think of our new look, and share any comments by using our contacts page - Thank you and enjoy.

Neal, Andrea and Aria
